Lincoln Conservative Association is run on a voluntary basis by an elected executive. The Executive is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting of the association – usually in the spring. The Executive is made up of officers with specific responsibilities. Officers of the Association include the Chairman, two Deputy Chairmen (a Deputy Chairman Membership & Finance and a Deputy Chairman Political), four Vice Presidents, the Association Treasurer and a Young Conservative representative.
Honorary Life President
George and his wife Doreen have been stalwarts of the association for many years and in 2015 George celebrated his 70th year as a Conservative member. George first joined in 1945 when Winston Churchill was leader of the party, both George and Doreen are held in great regard by all in the association and have befriended and helped countless numbers of us over the many decades and elections.
Cllr Hilton Spratt
Hilton is a long serving member of our Association and has been Chairman in the past, as well as his service as a councillor in both the City and County Councils. Hilton currently is the County Councillor for Witham and Swallowbeck Division having won his seat in May 2017.
Cllr Eddie Strengiel
Elected Association Chairman in March 2016 following a year as Deputy Chairman Political. Eddie has served as a City of Lincoln Councillor for Birchwood Ward, Lincolnshire County Councillor for Birchwood Division, Leader of the City Council from 2007-08 and Mayor of Lincoln 2004-5. Eddie has lived in Lincoln for 30 years and has Birchwood Ward in his blood having first been elected in 1991. He owned and run his own business in the city until he retired in 2011. He is married to Sandra and they have two daughters.
Deputy Chairman Membership & Finance
Jane was elected Deputy Chairman Membership & Finance at the Association AGM in March 2016. Jane has been a party member for over 35 years and has been a council candidate in the past. As well as being a Deputy Chairman of the Association she is also Chairman of the Lincolnshire Area Conservative Women’s Organisation. She has worked In education for many years and is now a part time tutor and supply teacher.
Deputy Chairman Political
Sophie was elected at an SGM in September 2016 after stepping down from her role as CF Chairman.
Andrew Ogg was elected to be Association Treasurer at the 2016 AGM. Andrew is a local self-employed chartered accountant acting for hard-working businesses and families in and around Lincoln.
Cllr Chris Reid
Chairman of Lincoln Young Conservatives
Chris represents any Conservative members under the age of 30 as well as the University of Lincoln’s Conservative Society. The Association has lots of young members. Many of them, like Chris, have gone on to be association officers and local authority councillors as Chris the Lincolnshire County Councillor for Minster Division.
